Ronan Malloy Flynn's birthday.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I knew I was pregnant before any test could tell me so.  I was also pretty sure it was a boy right away.  Different from my pregnancy with Molly, I was nauseous for much of the first 14 weeks and painfully, annoyingly, tired for the remainder.
Everyone blamed Molly for my exhaustion but really she's not that wild.
Molly dubbed this baby "Tobo" and, seeing as we were leaving the gender a surprise, we stuck with that name throughout the next nine months.
We got a few glimpses of Tobo via ultrasound and both Ryan and I individually noted the shapely and formidable legs.
I felt Tobo move for the first time at 15 weeks.  By 19 weeks he was kicking the crap out of me and near the end even I was freaked out by the size and strength of his movements.
I went into early labor on December 3rd but pain and discomfort was minimal and we weren't really sure that it was early labor.
8:00am on Friday, December 4th I had a large painful contraction that kicked off full fledged labor.  Ryan came home at 11:15 or so and we were arriving at the hospital by 11:45.
Molly helped me time my contractions using a phone app and would hold my hand and ask me "are you having a tra-traction?"
Really cute.
We had them immediately put in an order for an epidural (and a request that a resident NOT do it after my last experience) and, outside of a few scary dips in blood pressure, I was comfortable by 3:00.
By 4:30 I was fully dilated and starting laboring down.
Starting pushing at 6:15 and little Ro was here at 6:28.
Our doc was Dr. Kanios and, upon hearing Ryan was a resident, asked him if he wanted to catch the baby. We had discussed this with Molly but he had decided he didn't want to. This time, he did. So, they scrubbed him up and he delivered Ro.
Ro clocked in at 20.5 inches long and 7 lbs 10 oz.
Similar to Mol, he had a little trouble clearing gunk out of his lungs but was in perfect running order after nursing for a while.
Ryan went to get Molly and tell her the news first and she got to come back and meet him before everyone else. Then they went to get the grandparents.
